The Elysée Museum has a large collection of Francis Frith, one of the pioneers of landscape photography and travel in the nineteenth century. After visiting Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, Frith went to Switzerland, where it multiplies the picturesque views for tourists. His workshop will be one of the most flourishing, so much so that the photographer will create its own publishing house, marketing of products as diverse as stereoscopic or photogravures.
Wallet 406 albumin prints dating from the 1870s, incorporating a few landscapes of Egypt to, views of mountains and Swiss cities.
